Mgim Lee Gousse is an emerging scholar and community-engaged researcher with a Magna Cum Laude B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Her academic background is complemented by extensive leadership and applied experience working with youth of color through Felicia’s Promise, where she has served in roles ranging from intern to Community Engagement Director. Across these positions, she demonstrated a strong capacity for integrating psychological theory with real-world practice, particularly in areas related to identity development, belonging, motivation, and social-contextual influences on behavior.
Her work in program development, mentorship, and community engagement has been shaped by a deep interest in how environments and relationships shape cognitive, emotional, and social outcomes—especially for marginalized populations. She has contributed to workshop design, data collection and evaluation, outreach systems, and peer support structures, often drawing implicitly on her academic training to create culturally grounded, developmentally informed interventions. Her ability to observe social dynamics, strengthen group cohesion, and support youth through transitional periods reflects her growing expertise in social and developmental psychology.
Mgim is currently preparing to pursue her master’s degree in General Psychology as the next step toward her long-term goal of earning a Ph.D. in Psychology. She is committed to advancing research at the intersection of identity, social context, and motivation, with the aim of developing evidence-based practices that promote empowerment and well-being among underrepresented communities. Through both her academic trajectory and her leadership in community organizations, she exemplifies the integration of scholarly rigor, cultural awareness, and human-centered impact.
