We're Felicia's Promise
Felicia’s Promise is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
The mission and purpose of Felicia’s Promise is to primarily assist girls of color from underrepresented communities by helping them to develop marketable skills, attain higher education, learn about career opportunities, and become financially self-reliant.
Felicia’s Promise works to provide technical and non-technical resources and training to prepare young girls on STEAM career paths with communication, entrepreneurship, leadership, and other necessary skills that the organization deems necessary to uphold its mission.

What we do
- We offer one on one mentoring, group mentoring sessions and promising girl chat conversations.
- We offer virtual academic tutoring in the US and abroad.
- We offer in-person & virtual biweekly themed workshops to include, Civic Engagement, Public Speaking, Literacy, Financial Literacy, Art Enrichment, Fitness Boot camp, Nutrition, Natural Hair Care, Women’s Health, Coding and more to come! We provide workshop essentials as needed.
- We plan to offer college scholarships to our high school seniors upon their graduation.
We will expand our STEAM program to include music and demonstrate how Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Music, and Mathematics are all part of our everyday lives. We like to include STEAM in some of our workshops to show how integral it is to the way we live, work, and play, from the elemental building blocks of life to the technology we use. We will continue to use a variety of (interactive) formats including discussions, experiments, field trips, videos and movies.

Felicia's Promise
Our programs have made a meaningful difference in their lives. Here are some key outcomes that highlight our impact.
Increased Confidence
Confidence-building programs empower underserved youth to pursue their dreams with greater determination (Hounsell & Welty, 2021). Through one-on-one mentoring, group sessions, and Promising Girl Chats, our girls develop the confidence to set ambitious goals and face challenges with courage.
This has become a strong foundation for their journey toward higher education and career success. Research has shown that ongoing mentorship helps build social capital, which includes access to resources and knowledge that facilitate career and academic navigation (Jenkins et al., 2022).
In-fact, over 90% of participants report feeling more confident in pursuing their goals. One participant shared, “Felicia’s Promise has helped me realize my potential—I feel ready to take on anything.”
Expanded Career and Educational Goals
Studies confirm that early career and college exposure encourages youth to pursue meaningful educational and professional paths (Mendelson et al., 2021). Felicia’s Promise career-focused sessions and college prep programs introduce the girls to diverse career paths and education options.
By connecting with mentors and role models, they feel inspired to set clear goals for their futures. To date, all of our high school seniors have pursued college or vocational training aligned with their career aspirations.
Practical Skills for Success Skills-based programs provide youth with the tools they need for financial independence, workplace success, and civic engagement (Hounsell & Welty, 2021). Felicia’s workshops on financial literacy, personal branding, and civic engagement provide girls with practical skills they can use in everyday life and at work.
With hands-on training in budgeting, public speaking, and leadership, 85% of participants report feeling more prepared for both their careers and community involvement. Girls have shared that they now feel equipped to give back and make a difference.
